This Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, NPR Music celebrates artists from all corners of Latinidad with an ‘El Tiny’ takeover.
Rubio’s electronic-pop music is filled with ambient sound, however on the Tiny Desk, her movement is reborn. Enchanting strings and piano carry darker tones, evoking the mountains of Chile. In these sweeping preparations, she casts a brand new spell.
As punk as she is rock as she is basic in her strategy, her biting lyrics and deeply various musical sensibilities on songs like “Lo Que No Hablas” and “Seres Invisibles” are as efficient as they’re gripping. From shrillness to quiet, it is within the areas of discomfort that her star emerges — she was made to shine brightest in an area just like the Tiny Desk.
